Elena Eustache Takes an In-depth Look at Feelings
Elena Eustache spoke with Dr. Kam Yuen about how we use emotions versus feelings. Dr. Yuen said that we sometimes get the two terms mixed up and say that we "feel an emotion," such as sadness. By shortening the term to say that we are feeling sad, we really mean that we are feeling a weakness towards a particular emotion. We also sometimes refer to a pet as feeling sad, when that isn't possible because pets do not have emotions. Understanding how to use our feelings is what will help us through situations, rather than depending on emotions.
